Join us on Tuesday, April 22 from 3-9pm for an April Community Pint Night benefiting Yakima’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s! You’ll be able to sign up for this year’s walk (to be held on Saturday, October 11 at Franklin Park) and enjoy a pint knowing that $1 from each will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s!

Did you know?

  1. In 2020, there was 126,700 people age 65+ with Alzheimer’s, which works out 10.2%.
  2. There were 247,00 caregivers with a total of 378,000,000 hours of unpaid care.
  3. 61% of caregivers have their own chronic health conditions, and 6 in 10 were employed 35+ hours per week this past year in addition to providing care.
  4. 57% of employed caregivers had to go to work late, leave early, or take time off due to caregiving demands.
  5. 6% of employed caregivers retired early.
  6. The funds that we raise help to provide research to find a cure, provide education for the public, support family members and caregivers, and fund a toll-free crisis hotline manned by clinical professionals for that moment of time when you just don’t know what to do next.  That number is 800-272-3900.
